Carp will love these zesty green corn. Perfect for topping off baits and adding into mixes. Each corn is packed with lemon and lime fruity goodness complemented by a salty sweet kernel corn.
All the ingredients can be bought from your local supermarket
To make a tins worth of Citrus Zing Corn you will need:
- A Tin of sweetcorn (In liquid)
- Lemon Extract
- 1 Lime zested and cut into quarters
- Green Food Colouring
- 1 Tbs Salt
- 1 Tbs Sugar
- Empty Jar or container
Cost per batch around £1 (You should have enough food colouring and lemon extract to make at least 4 batches)
Start by taking your sweet corn and emptying the contents into your desired container
Now add your Sugar and Salt to the mix
You now need to add 1tsp of your Lemon Extract followed by the zest from your lime (Use a small grater or cut the peel off with a knife)
Cut the remainder of the Lime up into equal quarters and add to the mix
Next add 2 tsp of food colouring
Now pop your lid on and rock the container side to side to mix all the ingredients together.
Leave to marinade in the fridge for 1-2 days.
You should soon see the corn starting to take on some of the green colour in your citrus marinade.
Next drain off the liquid and discard the lime quarters
Place the corn on some kitchen roll and pat the excess liquid off. You still want to keep the corn moist.
Place your corn in a zip-lock bag or sealed container ready for use the next day. If you want to store it for longer, simply stick it in your freezer and defrost on the day.
